Reports to the Business Automation Manager

Prothya Biosolutions is the Belgian branch of an international biotech company that specialises in therapies based on proteins derived from blood plasma. Within the group, Prothya Biosolutions mainly focuses on customer-oriented CDMO activities for other international biotech companies and for other branches within the group.

These CDMO activities grow constantly and require a high level of customer orientation and flexibility. The ERP system SAP plays a key role here.

For the project-based and operational support of this, we are looking for a future colleague Supervisor with sufficient experience in leading/coordinating a SAP team and, more specifically, the processes and configurations in the modules Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), and Plant Maintenance (PM).


As Supervisor IT, you will be responsible for managing, keeping up-to-date, and optimising your assigned ERP system SAP at Prothya Biosolutions.

As Supervisor IT, you are in charge of managing and optimising the activities in your department and you are responsible for motivating and coaching your staff. They are responsible for assisting with the analysis of needs, and developing and implementing new and improved processes. In addition, they will also help set up and improve the necessary interfaces and integrations between SAP and other systems such as the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and the Quality Management System (QMS).

You are responsible for a team of two employees who, from an operational role, support other departments within the company with your technical and process knowledge. You are also the central point of contact for communication with external partners, for technical questions, and for analysing and solving problems.

Key responsibilities and result areas:

1.            Supervising and managing the employees in your department:

         - You coordinate, analyse, and validate the operation within your team and make proposals for improvement;

         - You carry out checks on the work/activities within your department;

         - You motivate and encourage your employees.

2.           Implement/follow up on the activities within IT, according to the internal customers’ needs/requirements:

              - You are responsible for the follow-up of SAP projects;

              - You ensure that the activities within these departments are kept up-to-date and optimised;

              - You are responsible for the administrative processing and reporting of the activities carried out to the      Business Automation Manager and you provide the other departments within                 the organisation with progress reports as well;

              - You participate in audits (both internal and external)

3.            Carrying out various additional activities:

               - You ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations;

               - You participate in department-specific projects.


  • Level of education: Bachelor or Master in Information Technology, Master in Engineering, or equivalent through experience

  • You have a minimum of five years’ experience in SAP and in dealing with or managing people, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector;

  • You have a practical knowledge of SAP;

  • You are fluent in Dutch and French and have a reasonable knowledge of English;

  • You are good at guiding and motivating a team, you are a good communicator, and you like to work with others;

  • You are analytical, you can set priorities, and are a good organiser;

  • You feel at home in a project environment and you can handle several projects at the same time;

  • You are both customer-oriented and service-oriented;

  • You can handle stress and are focused on results.

  • You will work from our premises in Brussels and are willing to travel to Amsterdam regularly to work with the Global IT team.
